We want to create ...
We want to create… theatre.
“the area in which something happens”
Not the same stuff shown day-in day-out.
We want to create… excitement.
That intoxication theatre lovers relentlessly pursue for years, but rarely find.
When we say we put the audience at the centre of the projects, its not a theatrical cliche. It's a tangible aim and something we work hard to achieve.
We don’t want to have an audience watching a group of actors on autopilot, but give them the dizzying excitement of a sporting event, where the action is undecided, and the audience sit forward, their hearts in their mouths, where they are emotionally involved in the action of each player.
We want to create… a group of theatrical athletes.
We train our actors to be muscular and reactive. We develop our method project by project with specific aims – so they can perform in a way that excites the audience. So they can deliver surprises. So they can be truthful to the moment. Our rehearsals are not about blocking and line learning, stand here, say this – move upstage, don’t forget to close the blinds.
We want our actors to be spontaneous. We want them to be agile. We want them to be free.
To achieve this we train our actors to be ready. For anything.
We want to create theatre. We want to create excitement. We want to create theatrical athletes.
We want to create.
